Young Adult Career Discovery & Navigation Programs

We understand that as a Young Adult navigating the early career evaluation and process can be challenging. Global Mentorship has designed 2 programs specifically aimed at Young Adults to help them through this important career exploration – it should be exciting and informative – not overwhelming. 

There are 2 Programs to choose from depending on where you are in your Career discovery journey:

1. Global Mentorship Young Adult Career Compass Program “100”

    1. Free 30-Minute Consultation: Start with a complimentary video conference session to understand your needs and goals, setting the stage for a personalised career path.

    2. In-Depth Career Questionnaire: Delve into our thorough and proprietary  100-question survey exploring 10 Master career territories and 250 roles, designed to pinpoint your strengths and interests. 

    3. Mentoring Session: Extended one on one Career Mentoring session with Mark – Founder Global Mentorship. In depth discussion on the results of the Questionnaire and potential career territories and roles.

    4. Career Personal Reflection Exercise: Engage in a reflective exercise to better understand yourself as a holistic person and to identify your optimal career territory and understand your unique career aspirations.

    5. Mentoring Session: Extended one on one Career Mentoring session with Mark – Founder Global Mentorship. In depth discussion on the “reflective question” exercise and selection of Global Mentorship Mentors to best help you on your journey. By the end of this part of the program you will have clarity of Your Personal Career Compass.

    6. Mentorship Sessions with Industry Leaders: Benefit from THREE one-on-one sessions with handpicked mentors from our elite group of 50 professionals. Choose mentors based on your career interests and receive tailored advice from successful leaders who have navigated similar paths.

    7. Diverse Perspectives: Each mentor session offers a new perspective, broadening your understanding and approach to your career development.

    8. Check in & Network Expansion: Check in session at the end of the 3 Executive Mentoring sessions. Leverage the extensive networks and industry insights of your mentors, enhancing your career opportunities and growth potential.


    9. You are in Control:  Once you have been through the structured and very personal part of the Program – You get to choose your Mentors. You can review their profiles and videos and then select who you would like to be part of your career discovery journey

2. Psychometric Testing


Introduction: The aim of the testing is to measure your career interests, personality, work needs and reasoning abilities, and to link your profile with career choices that strongly match your profile. Your Interview and Testing Session is conducted by one of our Mentors who is a Registered Psychometrist, and we use the latest Careers Test Battery from Psytech International. You receive your Careers Battery Report, a debriefing on your test results and report, and guidance regarding the most suitable career choices to consider.     

 

What You Can Expect


Before the Testing


  • We book a two hour virtual interview and testing session with you from 4pm – 6pm on a week day. We also book a one hour debriefing session with you on the careers report, for a week after the testing session.   

  • We send you a Career Guidance Form to obtain some background information, and ask you to return this to us at least two days before the testing session.

The Interview and Testing Session    

  • We start with a 30 minute interview session to get to know you as a person, and to discuss your concerns and questions.

  • The testing session follows on from this, and is approximately 1.5 hours. In the testing session, we give you instructions on the tests, and will be available virtually for any queries that you may have while doing the testing. 

  • The first test you do is the Occupational Interest Profile Questionnaire, which measures your career interests, personality and work needs. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, but you can do it at your own pace.

  • The second test is the General Reasoning Test Battery, which tests your Verbal Reasoning Ability, Numerical Reasoning Ability, and Abstract (Logical) Reasoning Ability. These are timed tests, and take approximately 1 hour to complete all three tests.  

  • We send you your careers report the day after the testing, together with guidance on the report findings.   

  • We request that you go through your careers report before our debriefing session, and note down questions that you may have. 


The Debriefing Session 

  • In the debriefing session, we go through each section of your careers report with you (career interests, personality, work needs, reasoning abilities and career recommendations).

  • We discuss your questions, and guide you as to the career choices that might be most suitable for you to consider. 

  • We also link you with global career information on these career options to assist in your choice.
