Why do you want to be a mentor?

Over my career, I’ve had experiences, successes and failures that I hope can be useful to others. If somebody can benefit from these, in whatever way and I can add value, it is time well spent.

With over 30 years of experience in the finance sector, I’ve witnessed first-hand the dynamic shifts in the industry, from the challenges of the Global Financial Crisis and the impact of ESG on financing solutions, to the ongoing digital transformation that continues to reshape the business landscape.

Throughout my career, spanning roles in private and semi-governmental financial institutions, I’ve cultivated a deep expertise in leadership, strategy, stakeholder relations, debt capital markets, treasury, and risk management. I have had the opportunity to work in both Australia and UK and interact with businesses in many countries, with different cultures and ways of doing things.

I have dealt with governments, regulators and rating agencies and seen the critical importance of a broad stakeholder strategy. My approach to leadership is grounded in strategic thinking and resilience. Qualities that have guided me through numerous high-stakes environments. These experiences have honed my crisis management skills and reinforced my commitment to aligning strategic risk management with overarching business objectives.

On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with people. If I can do that over a drink or a meal, all the better. I love to travel and am fascinated by business and the interconnections and psychology that make up an economy.
